History of the company
AS Lasbet is a public limited company based on private capital that was formed on the basis of the Tallinn Reinforced Concrete Products Factory.
The Tallinn Reinforced Concrete Products Factory started operation in 1956. Since the first year of operation, the factory has manufactured a very wide range of concrete and reinforced concrete products and has delivered concrete mixtures.
Since October 1989, the Tallinn Reinforced Concrete Products Factory operated as a leased enterprise. In 1993, the enterprise was given a new name – leased enterprise Lasbet.
The selection of the name was based on two important key words – the location of the company at Lasnamäe and the word “concrete” (in Estonian “betoon”) describing the main activity.
By 1990ies, the initially planned production capacity of the company – 19 thousand m3 of concrete and reinforced concrete products a year – had increased nearly by ten times in reality.
New production areas were taken into use. The company had its own boiler house, woodwork plant, mechanics plant and all other necessary subsidiary production units.
Starting from June 1995, the company bears the name AS Lasbet, being a legal successor of leased enterprise Lasbet and at the same time also of the Tallinn Reinforced Concrete Products Factory.
According to the resolution of shareholders’ general meeting of 9 April 2009, AS Lasbet was divided into AS Lasbet the main activity of which is the management of real estate owned by the company and AS Lasbet Tootmine the main activity of which is the manufacture and sale of reinforced concrete elements.
During the whole time of operation, the company has been, regardless of the name, one of the biggest manufacturers of reinforced concrete structures in Estonia. AS Lasbet Tootmine continues this tradition being a reliable cooperation partner for builders thanks toits skills and experience.
